A holistic complementary therapy practiced for thousands of years, reflexology is a treatment that involves placing gentle but firm pressure on different reflex points on the feet and lower legs. These reflex points are connected to various organs and systems around the body via the nervous system, and carefully manipulating them allows me to activate your own innate healing process, allowing for energy to pass freely around your body once again. In other words, reflexology is about bringing your body back into a state of homeostasis, providing relief from stress as well as other physical conditions.
Although reflexologists cannot claim to ever cure, diagnose, or prescribe any particular condition, reflexology has been known to help clients in the following ways:
It’s so easy to let the stress in your life build up. We all lead such busy lives. And most of the time, we don’t give ourselves the break we need, choosing instead to push on as the tension in our mind continues to grow and grow. I have seen many people suffer from burnout, or other stress related conditions, because they simply didn’t give themselves the attention they need. Reflexology, in this sense, is a wonderful way to enjoy some self-care – a chance to truly relax, unwind, and let your troubles float away as you focus solely on your own wellbeing.
Despite not being able to ‘cure’ any particular condition, reflexology has been shown to support your body’s own natural capacity for healing itself. By activating the nervous system, your overall circulation improves, sending relief to areas that have become imbalanced or blocked over time. You will, once treatment is over, feel much lighter on your feet, with less tension in areas that may have been tight before the session.
